If you weren't already aware, XSAN is simply Apple's rebranding of StorNext from Quantum, so you don't necessarily need to be looking for something specifically claiming "XSAN compatibility." We have a mixture of quite a few different vendors for various StorNext file systems without any problem. Everything from old Apple XRAIDs to EMC solutions. As long as the device can export a LUN, you should be fine.
As far as brand recommendations, I personally have not had much fun with the Promise devices and we likely won't be buying any more.
