Yes, and if someone's computer does not work with CAC yet , having the needed middleware behind CAC authentication kind of defeats storing the software there. :)

Despite having a valid and registered CAC, I have been unable to access forge.mil in ther last 3 years. It could be what's stopping Ken.
On the other hand, I suspect there isn't enough goodies there to justify hard efforts to get in ("normal" attempts, like reaching to the site maintainers and listed contacts, didn't do anything). Thank God for GitHub.

Hello David,
Glad to hear CACkey 0.7.8 worked for you. I reached out directly to Ken (the guy who now maintains CACkey), and let him know of the issues I had been hearing, and experiencing myself.
It took Ken
quite a bit of configuring to get it working with 10.12. It worked great in the beta versions. Apple changed something between the last beta and the final 10.12.
He sent it to me to host, and posted it on http://cackey.rkeene.org/download/0.7.8/ Not sure if he isn't able to access software.forge.mil any longer or what is going on.
Respectfully,

The latest cackey 0.7.8 gets us back to signing forms and CAC use like we had before 10.12 was released.
Michael,
This version worked out great for me; previously with 0.7.6 (the latest version on the software.forge.mil site) Safari didn’t work correctly, but without CACkey, I found that Firefox, Chrome, Adobe Reader, and other apps that relied on the older methods of the keychain or PKCS#11 module didn’t work.
