Hi Matt,
I am not sure whether this is directly related to the filesystem - I believe this is more related to the autofs vs directory utility communication where this tool would not probably help.
Thanks for the hint anyway.
Ondrej

Hi Ondrej,
You can tell Disk Arbitration to be in debug mode. This will write a log to /var/log/diskarbitrationd.log. You just need to add a -d to the command. See the man page for diskarbitrationd for more info.
To enable this on boot, you will need to change the launched plist for diskarbitrationd. That file is located at /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.diskarbitrationd.plist. You will need to change:
<key>Program</key>
<string>/usr/sbin/diskarbitrationd</string>
to
<key>ProgramArguments</key>
<array>
<string>/usr/sbin/diskarbitrationd</string>
<string>-d</string>
</array>
Hope that helps,
Matt Bauer

Hi list,
I have configured automounter (OS X 10.8.5) to keep maps in AD (using NIS format), following the document here: http://images.apple.com/business/docs/Autofs.pdf
Everything seems to be fine, "dscl localhost -ls /Search/Automount" lists the map fine, but yet, I have no joy with automounter itself - it does not seem to use DirectoryService at all.
What could be wrong?
Is there any chance to put automounter in detailed debug mode to see what it does?
Automounter in Fedora/Centos works absolutely fine with my setup.
Many thanks,
Ondrej
