Prevent receipts from getting written??

Hi,
I have a number of installers that install files to
the same folder. The problem is, each install I do DELETES all of the
files installed by the previous installer!!
I think this is because they all install files to
the same folder. I can't change that part of it.
If I delete the receipt from the previous install,
the problem doesn't occur. So, can I prevent receipts from being created
at all?
I can't believe that an installer would
automatically delete files from a user's computer, with no option to prevent
it...
