Installing files in postflight

We deliver our software via dmg file. The disk image contains the installer, a read me file and a custom uninstaller.

Currently, the installer archive contains duplicate copies of the uninstaller and read me. I would like to add a couple of copy commands to my postflight script so that I don't have duplicates. Is there a way to add these to the package receipt?
