OK, LittleSnitch comes preconfigured with a bunch of rules, allowing all
kinds of system software to start outgoing connections.

Since there is a button "Restore Default Rules", I could easily remove
those and thus deny outgoing connections even to (some) system software.

Then several events happened:

Directory Service wanted to connect to 239.255.255.253, port 427 (svrloc)
via UDP
slpd wanted to connect to 239.255.255.253, port 427 (svrloc)
via UDP

I denied access to them and put the iBook to sleep.
After opening the lid of the iBook:

mDNSResponder wanted to connect to 224.0.0.251, port 5353 via UDP

I denied access for that and put the iBook to sleep again. After waking
up, there was no more alert from LittleSnitch, but the iBook started at
least one more outgoing connection, so my Airport Base Station dialed out
again.

So it seems I need a packet trace next...
