Proxy auto-configuration scripts

Hi,
I was wondering while Netscape and Camino have had the built-in ability to
use proxy auto-configuration scripts for a while. Is there any chance that
Safari to have this support, as large corporations drive everything through
proxies and some via pac files especially BT where I work and this is a
disadvantage for the MacOS users here.

Or would this be added in at the network level ???. So anything going out
would go through it first maybe ???.

Thanks
Mark.
