Replacing AppleTalk code?

Hello gang. This is perhaps slightly off topic but here goes - perhaps
someone can point me to a more appropriate forum...
I'm working on a product that in OS 9 supported downloading PostScript
directly to an AppleTalk printer using the old ATalk API. It was never
updated to use the OT AppleTalk stuff and so when we moved to OS X we cut
the feature. Well, it's time to put the feature back so I need some
direction.
I've looked at the Rendezvous stuff which allows you to browse for LPR, IPP,
and PDL Data Stream printers. Think I know how to handle these types of
printers - I'm assuming that once I know the IP address it's up to me to use
the appropriate protocol to get the PostScript to the device.
My question is how do I support AppleTalk printers? Printer Center/Printer
Setup allows you to browse and setup AppleTalk devices. Did I just miss the
API to do this?
Thanks for any help/direction you guys can provide...
