The subnet broadcast for Ethernet is 10.194.9.255 while for the wireless computer-to-computer is 169.254.255.255.
When both interfaces are on with Ethernet set as first in the network order, I can successfully ping Host2 connected to en1
with an IP of 169.254.73.226, but I was not able to successfully ping 169.254.255.255.
But when I connected en1 to a router with a broadcast address of 157.184.80.255, I was able to ping the subnet broadcast
even if both en0 and en1 are enabled.
Any idea why is this?

Host1 is now "multihomed" or attached to two networks: (1) Ethernet; (2) computer-to-computer wireless.
Within the Network Preferences Panel, there is a "Network Service Order" which defines which network connection (wired or wireless) will be is used first when it is available.

Broadcasts are not automatically forwarded from network to another, and 169.254.255.255 is not a universal broadcast address, but a subnet broadcast address that depends on other stations being configured to
