Not speaking on behalf of Apple here, just my own personal annoyance.
It's tough. For better or worse, consumers, as it were, love Flash,
you know? it's (a) wildly popular (b) does exactly the sort of thing
they want and (c) is not a laughable fiasco like javascript ;-)
I wonder if someone could make oodles of money off of writing a
dummy flash plug-in that does nothing but figure out the size of the
blank space to fill in. I've disabled the flash plug-in in the past
but every browser displays an alert every time i load a page missing
the flash plug-in. Sure makes me appreciate the lack of flash on the
iPhone.
Maybe it's time to start a Just say no to Flash campaign. It
probably needs a flashy title like "Don't flash your users".
Hey, I despise and loathe the whole WEB! I think web pages and web
sites totally suck. "Applications, not web pages" if you ask me.
Flash is just one of the minor annoyances on The Web :-)
But it's never going to happen you know?
flash on the iFone is bound to be just around the corner (for better or worse).
