Hi Everyone,

I have cooled off a bit, to think a bit more.
I think it is important to share this creative cow post here.
I do owe an apology to those that took offense to my comments. (I am the king of knee-jerk reactions, for sure.)

Hi Everyone,

I want to publicly say something about my public/private-ish comments in some forums. It is quite a shock to the system, when you learn that your business will be dramatically impacted by a platform change that you depend upon. That is the root cause of my reactions and emails. (Both public and private emails..) I apologize to any Apple staff/employees that I have offended. But I also want those that I have criticized to understand this: is that Glue Tools isn't a multi-billion dollar business. These changes seriously affect my business. I hope that this is just a big bump in the road, not the end of it. (From my perspective, it is looking like the latter..)

The developers at Apple's ProApps group have done an incredible job at re-writing an editing application. For those that develop software, could you imagine taking your own app and re-writing it from scratch? That is a pretty big task. Especially with editing tools. It is a thankless job, for sure.

Having said that, I too hope I have the opportunity to rewrite my software. As it stands right now, it is uncertain if the APIs that exist in QuickTime will ever have equivalents in future MacOS releases. I hope that I will be able to adapt what I have built for FCP7 to work with FCPX. I hope so. What I need isn't an immediate priority for Apple. They have a much bigger audience than my clientele, to support.

In the meantime, I will be looking to the future. Hopefully it brings good things.
Again, Congratulations to the development staff that brought FCPX to the market. A Herculean task, for sure.

bob..
