My limited experience has been the opposite! When an Ethernet cable is plugged in it spins and fails to find a time server. Otherwise it associates with our wireless using the generic association credentials installed by the profile using Configurator. Until this version they were not able to connect because of the need for 802.1x (WPA Enterprise) authentication.
