Bart,
I am curious. How were your problem computers brought up to 10.8: upgrade or re-image? Have you tried applying a combo update? Are these users wireless or wired? I have no help to offer, just looking for patterns. We've upgraded a lot of computers to
10.8 and have not experienced reported problems along these lines, but I have a Lion computer I upgraded that does. Are your problem machines all a common model?
