Thanks, Michael. That helps for managed devices. But what would be the procedure for a non-managed device if this situation comes up? I can’t imagine that the only option is to discard the iPad. Is the only answer to pay for an out-of-warranty replacement, or will an Apple Store tech have some sort of method for restoring even in the presence of the Activation Lock?
