Any chance the web filter was activated on the device itself? Settings>General>restrictions>web filter

Hi Joel,
Where is the "restricted site" messaging coming from? Do you have a screenshot? Assuming that the message displays in a browser from your filter, it sounds like a network filter configuration issue, in which case I recommend escalating to your filter vendor
for support.
Ideally you could test these sites with a network that completely bypasses the district filter to begin and isolate the issue. An easy way to do this (assuming Global Proxy isn't installed on the device) would be to take a device that displays the failure home
with you and test on your home network.

Hi,
I¹m having trouble with getting certain sites to work with our school
iPads. We used to be able to open Socrative and now we can¹t because we¹re
getting ³restricted site² messages. Also, Overdrive also does the same
thing. Students try to browse for a book via the Overdrive website, and we
get the same message. The Overdrive app also shows restricted site message.
I¹ve tried removing restrictions in Settings, no luck. Tried changing the
Profile for restrictions in Configurator, still no luck.
Our district tech support doesn¹t know how to fix. I asked if they have a
block on these two sites, and they said no, and that it¹s working in other
schools. What am I doing wrong?
Any ideas or suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks Mike. It is appearing on the iPads only not the teacher’s laptops So I think it is related to the iOS update. I think it is originating from Safari, not the network but I will try the at home test, good idea. Strange thing is the exact same site was
accessed no problem prior to the upgrade. I have restrictions set on each device as opposed to via the network (I am not a very sophisticated manager). I discounted the message initially, but I am pretty sure I can recreate it and send a screen shot.
Thanks for the response!
