This is a special release of hsqldb for Mac OS X and WebObjects 5.
Both the pure java database library and a JDBC plugin for WO/EOF.
It consists of a package with the necessary developer files, and
a stand-alone database manager mac application (written in java)
It enables you to use Hypersonic in the stand-alone in-JVM mode,
as a database for EOF. You can only access the hsqldb database file
from a single WO instance at a time, or from the database manager.
The mgr includes code to compare hsqldb with your regular database.
http://homepage.mac.com/anders_f_bjorklund/Hypersonic.dmg (0.9 MB)
Source code to all the additions and customizations is included.
Written by Anders F Bjvrklund <email@hidden>,
and released under the GNU Lesser General Public License.
Mac OS X version 10.2 and WebObjects version 5.2 were used.
The URL to use with EOF is: jdbc:hsqldb:/path/to/database_name
Default username is "sa" with no password (just leave password blank)
The correct JDBC driver and EO plugin are chosen automagically.
Primary keys are generated in a special EO_..._PK table (for each
regular table) using the built-in IDENTITY type and IDENTITY() function.
It currently supports a single INTEGER primary key only. All the dates
and times are stored in GMT. (these changes required both the jdbcplugin
as well as patching the original hsqldb code to accept NSTimestamps)
HSQLDB 1.7.1 is copyrighted by The HSQL Development Group, and is
open source released under a license similar to the BSD license.
Originally developed by Thomas Mueller and the Hypersonic SQL Group.
See hsqldb sourceforge page for database documentation and source code:

Hope you'll find this useful and happy holidays,

PS. This is a first release. Please report any problems or comments?
PPS. It's deployable on all platforms, but dev files are jaguar-only.
