Did you try to deploy? I had the same experience in term of installation. However deployment does not appear to be working properly at least the JavaMonitor part. I have a machine with 20 applications installed all recompiled with WO 5.2.2. The applications run fine but the monitor keeps crashing with "Too many files open" and I cannot start and stop applications....

I have just recently installed Panther server and deployed WO on it from scratch.

WebObjects 5.2.2 Deployment is installed as an integrated component of Panther Server. There is NO NEED to install WebObjects Deployment as a separate installation .... frameworks, apache HTTP adaptor, wotaskd, JavaMonitor are all in place after a standard Panther Server installation.

In my case, I purchased OS X Server "up to date" upgrade which came with no license keys, so I used the OS X 10.2 license that I had and all worked fine.

There is no Development software tools or license included in Panther Server.

I ran into a problem recently, and I'm wondering if I'm just misunderstanding something. As I understand it, a license for WebObjects Development comes with OS X Server 10.3. WebObjects itself doesn't actually come on the Installation CDs, though. To install it, I downloaded WO 5.2 from the Apple Developer Web site, then upgraded to 5.2.2.

The problem - the WO 5.2 installer asks for a license key, but it doesn't recognize the OS X Server 10.3 license as a valid license number. I had to put in the old license number I had from OS X Server 10.2.

Am I missing something here? How does someone who purchases a brand-new version of OS X Server 10.3 install a WebObjects Development license? Or am I wrong about WO Development coming with OS X Server?
