What are the symptoms? Are you launching a WO app from PB, but IE
can't connect to the URL that WO generates? The URL I see under
similar circumstances is

private IP address, not localhost, is being used. Is this what you see?

My case, it is http://localhost:50030/cgi-bin/WebObjects/testapplication

I don't know how WO generates the host portion of the URL. But our system configurations may be different enough to explain this difference. I'm running OS X 10.2.3 with WO 5.2 and the Dec. 2002 Dev Tools. I configure my private IP address manually in the Network System Configuration, but my Internet connection is via a cable modem with a router between my cable modem and my PowerBook. The router is assigned a public IP address via DHCP from my ISP whereas the internal modem interface of your system is assigned a public IP address when you connect to your ISP. So my PowerBook's network configuration isn't affected by whether I'm connected to the Internet unlike in your situation.

In your case, have you successfully changed the other browser from IE?

Yes. I doubt that this would matter for a WO app, but if you want a different browser to be associated with various file extensions like "html" and "htm", you'll need to change those using Finder.
