Why not?
If you checked Apple's website there's a WebObjects State of the Union
on 24 June - 9:00 am - 10:30 am (check WWDV timetables under the 'IT
Enterprise' section). My guess is that this is where WO stuff would be
really discussed. It'd be surprised if we got anyone here writing about
it today.
And even if there's not much news... So what? Why would Apple build its
great and big online music store with a technology bound for the scrap
heap???
Personally, I think you should look at the API differences between
WO5.1 and WO5.2. There's a lot of work going on. My guess Apple will
release big changes in the next release of WO. Maybe the delay is due
to the fact that this time they're actually testing it before it is
released. :)

I understand the replies so far, but nothing encourages confidence.

I am not at the developer conference and am attempting to figure how
WO fits into the future of Panther Server..... In all the
literature I see no mention of WO. This includes Xcode.
Most of the the Xcode features discussed apply mostly to ObjC/C++/C
(i.e., Cocoa) rather than Java development. The Java compilers
supported by PBX are from Sun and IBM, so Apple doesn't seem to have
as much control over them as they do over the ObjC/C++/C compiler,
gcc. So while Xcode does claim to support Java, I suspect that Java
development won't be much different behind the scenes than it is with
PBX, although the Xcode GUI seems to be quite different.
My question is that the fact that there is little mention of WO with
OSX Panther Server. Will WO be supported under Panther Server?
I would be VERY surprised if it didn't.
