I enjoy working with WO. I am hoping it last for a good long time. A
reassurance from marketing in specs for Panther Server rather than
mentioning JBoss, I found to be a bit alarming. I hope than someone in
the "KNOW" could settle any doubt. The blurp below is from Apple's
site. Can someone explain to me why I would want to use JBoss over
WebObjects? Why would marketing people at Apple add this and not
mentioning WO unless...........
Is the new deployment tool to be used to convert WO apps to JBoss?
With the latest version of WO that now support third party application
servers, is Apple migrating to WO development with only 3rd party
application servers? I am confused. This is the reason for my initial
post. I am not posting to put a bad spin on things. I have several
thousands of dollars I have invested and am a little concerned reading
that a new tool is being when it would be nice if more resources were
spent on documentation, code samples, or perhaps putting Quicktime
back in Java so the apps I wrote can work again.
High-performance Java application server Mac OS X Server is now the
easiest way to develop and deploy applications based on Suns J2EE
(Java 2 Enterprise Edition) standard. It features a built-in JBoss
application server for running J2EE applications, including Enterprise
Java Bean components. Panther Server also features new deployment tools
with a graphical user interface to configure your existing J2EE
applications for hosting on Mac OS X Server.
