optimistic locking

Hi all

I recently posted a question and i think I was a bit vague.

I have been reading into optimistic locking and read that there is a notification structure that updates in-memory Enterprise Objects so that earlier updates done on a users object can be edited again by the same user at a later time.

This is in the Fourth Paragraph in this reference :

http://developer.apple.com/techpubs/webobjects/Enterprise_Objects/ UpdateStrategies/chapter_9_section_6.html

I have just updated to 5.2 and using 10.2.5 and December 2002 Developer tools

Can I override these notifications so that I can see if the updating to in-memory objects is happening so that i can rule that out?

Best

Gino
