thanks,

so after finding out that the question was wrong, i learned that
1. EOModeler is weird , 2. ther never was a problem and
3. NSTimestamp as custom type and DATETIME are compatible using default translation. At least in my setup (which is OSX10.2.6, WO5.2.1, mysql 4.0.14-standard, mysql-connector-java-3.0.8-stable-bin.jar). which is quite surprising.
