Well, THAT's ridiculous all right. I definitely agree that WO ought
to be a LOT more included and considered by the folks controlling
general OSX releases (as well as the folks controlling XCode and the
developer tools!)---that's pretty clear to all of us.
I guess since I'm coming from developing on Windows (where more
recent versions of the JRE that will not work or are not qualified
for WO have _always_ been available. 1.4.2 has been out on Windows
for quite some time, for instance)---it's less disturbing to me that
Apple releases a JRE version that WO doesn't work quite right with.
But it ought to be a lot harder for a WO user who doesn't know
_exactly_ what he's doing to mess everything up by accidentally (when
prompted by Software Updater) upgrading the JRE, in such a way that
it's dificult or impossible to roll back to the previous qualified
version.
