Ok then Cliff,
I would like to officially open a support ticket to get my issues resolved.
As I asked Cliff in a series of email our company would like to use the
Cocoa-Java-EOF combination to develop internal business management
applications.
When we bought WebObjects 5.2 it was our understanding that we could develop
desktop applications with the technology. We later found out that the Java
application were too slow performing on our systems and did not offer the
depth that Cocoa based application offer.
Using Xcode we found and option titled:
Cocoa Enterprise Objects Application entry. We selected it and found out
that we could develop Cocoa based applications using Java and EOF.
We quickly make tremendous progress with that technology at least until we
started encountering small issues and were stomped by the lack of
documentation.
I asked a question about Cocoa-Java-EOF on the mailing list and Cliff Tuel
quickly dismissed my question telling me that I could not make use of the
technology to develop a fully functional application and that this approach
was not supported and that documentation would not be made available.
A question then: why is this development option available in XCODE if we are
not allowed to develop with it. This is terribly misleading and in fact it
made us loose close to 2 weeks development effort now that Cliff is telling
us not to move forward.
As a paying customer I am asking that Apple gives me the information I need
to make a sound decision about the use of WO in our project
1) Can Cocoa-java-EOF be made fully functional and fully supported by Apple
2) Can Apple provide me with a precise timeline about when this technology
will be made readily available to developers for full licensed use.
3) In the meanwhile I am asking that Apple provide me with the proper
support with this technology since I paid for the package and that I used a
development option that was readily available in Xcode.
4) If Apple decides not to help me with this I want to be provided with the
information about how I can be re-imbursed for the WebObjects we purchased.
I am awaiting for a prompt response from Apple WebObjects team.
