Sorry to jump in without any specific experience writing plugins, but I can tell you that the Java Bridge is not your problem. In the case of WebObjects applications--unless you're still using WO 4.5--the Bridge has been (thankfully) dead for several years.


The Bridge is only still with us because Apple hasn't bothered to update EOModeler in years and is still based on creaky old, pre-WO 5.0 technology. The only case where you might want to suspect the Bridge as a problem is if you have queries that work fine in your WO app but don't work inside the data browser in EOModeler.

Keep in mind that the above-mentioned Tech Note is now four years old and things may have changed slightly since then. But I don't think it will be too scary to write a simple plugin for this case. There are some other examples of JDBCPlugins in Project Wonder that you could use for references.
