I use Eclipse for all my WebObjects developments. It's fantastic. You can write your code with less effort and faster than with XCode.

PS: I work on Tiger. Eclipse and mac work very well.

I'm basically a newbie who has skimmed this list for a couple of years but has never taken the plunge because of Apple's ambiguity about plans for the future of WO.

I read the section about Pros and Cons of Eclipse vs PowerBuilder (WO) in Practical WebObjects, but that section cautions about its future relevance, and it was written pre Tiger.

Apart from the obvious cross-platform advantages of Eclipse,
how does it compare with Xcode 2?

How Mac-like is Eclipse? How well does it integrate all the development aspects of WO, and for that matter, how well does Xcode 2 do that now?

I looked at Apple's Xcode 2 webpage, and it mentions visual tools and data models, but does not mention how those support WO development.

Is anyone on this list able to share her or his first-hand experiences with Xcode 2 and WebObjects?

Thanks,

Nick
