Hi Mike.

Only problem was that I at the same time I
just discovered that all the dev. tools have been deprecated by apple.

Don't be scared - it's only the developer tools from Apple. Something a lot of people here have dropped way earlier and switched to Eclipse/WOLips or IntelliJ IDEA / WOProject and other tools.

The learning curve might a bit steeper now (hmmm, it was steep before,
what is it now? ;-)), but that's all.

So, your way to go is start reading / testing these tutorials:

http://www.objectstyle.org/confluence/display/WOL/Tutorials

And try to learn WebObjects.

Can anyone tell me if it is even worth the effort to start putting all my
time into learning this new technology,

I can only say this for myself: I have still to find a technology that comes even close.

If I really couldn't use WO for any reason I'd try to push for Ruby on
Rails (if it has a localization concept by now).

cug
