Are we not talking about BIG consulting companies, that normally work with
big client companies?
Small consulting companies always look for repeat business. Big consulting
companies give a shit.
If you go bankrupt because of their idiotic recommendations, it's because
you (!) did something wrong. That is their point of view and actually they
are right: you did something wrong by listening to them.
And they still can do repeat business, because a lot of the "middle tier
managers" trust them more and think it was the fault of the in-house team if
the whole thing blows up in their faces.

Oh yes. Absolutely. I think, the oversight here is the word *large*. Do you
think KPMG or Kap Gemini give a bit whether their recommendation is "good
advice"? They just want to get the money from the undecided. That's all. And
the typical Dilbert like manager trusts an external "expert" more than his
own people.
