On sites I develop, I usually include a text field that requires a
certain value to be entered - and I use a javascript to auto-enter
that text into the field when the page loads, so the user usually
never has to think about it. I know it's not a rock solid solution -
but it does successfully block about 300-400 spam messages a day on
my own blog.
I like it ... Just committed ERXSimpleSpamCheck. Implements this
wrapped in a display: none span so the user doesn't see it. Just drop
it in your form and it will generate a validation failure when the
values don't match.
