So the answer is _USE WONDER_. Take advantage of other people's work. Let them solve your problems for you. There are an enormous wealth of features available to you in exchange for a very small API commitment.
For the record, almost all of my post applies to ANY of the open- source WO frameworks. I can only vehemently recommend Wonder as that's the only one I use extensively, and I know that in particular we have spent a lot of time to make it very easy to start using because Wonder has gotten so much flak over the years.

And since this was a question from a new person, full disclosure is that I'm a Wonder committer, and thus terribly biased :) Biased and RIGHT, of course, as all biased people are, but biased nonetheless.
