Just add the basic core Wonder frameworks and you get a lot with
little for you to think about ...
ERJars
ERExtensions
JavaWOExtensions (Wonder version)
WOOgnl
ERPrototypes
ERJavaMail
That's my 2 cents :-)

Ok so this is what Im gonna do.
All of you have a point. Art have a point about the available time I
have to learn, but im doing a great effort in spending at least 3
hours of my day in WO learning, (reading, trying, investigating,
asking). As for Mike and the other guys have another good point
about what Wonder can offer me, and now that im new I can learn from
wonder without worrying about all the kool stuff it has, someday I
will need them and by that time I will use them and know how they
work.
It was kind of confusing, I have retyped this email like 3 times,
when reading the mails you guys have sent.
SO Im gonna start with Wonder this "parallel project" I know I will
not use most of the stuff it can offer me, the project its not big,
the only big things is the data in the db, there is a table about
4000+ records and ofcourse the relatonship this tables has with
others, something Im understanding Wonder will take of it. (4000
records are big when being a student)
I will keep you guys informed about my progress. there are may
newcomers and i think if I keep track of these progresses they will
benefit form it.
After I finish this "parallel project" I will go deeper into the
other features Wonder offers me. With the help of all of you guys..
Gus
PS Im loving this mailing list

PS: what would be the reason for using wonder?
Short list?:
Ajax.framework - Ajax the WebObjects way
ERXGenericRecord - will* methods plus much much more
Auto EOEditingContext locking
ERMigrations - Easy database schema change managment
ERPrototypes - Consistent set of Prototypes for many databases
Validity - Model based validation
ERDirectToWeb - Lots of extra stuff for D2W applications
ERTaggable - Tagging mixin for WebObjects apps
ERAttachment - Attachment mixin for WebObjects apps
ERJavaMail - WO wrapper around Javamail
Any number of things in ERXExtensions
Please correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Gustavo's goal to
compare WO with other Web development technologies as part of a
computer science course? How much can a student expect to learn
while also spending time for other classes as well? WO itself is
huge. Add WOnder on top of that and I think you'll be guaranteeing
the Gustavo doesn't finish his assignment by the end of his
course. I mean, how much of the above short list will Gustavo
actually need in the next few months?
I think expecting a WO newby to learn WO plus WOnder concurrently
may be enough to drive some newbies to other technologies. I'm a
proponent of the KISS principle wherever possible; e.g., learn WO
basics first, then add WOnder when you understand WO basics.
Aloha,
Art
