This seemed to work well; I had a glitch with Frontbase and had to install it again by downloading directly from frontbase.com, but the concept seems sound. However, there's no indication of whether it installs the latest of everything as of the moment you run it, or if it's a bundle that starts to go out of date moments after it's built. It seems that the turnkey installer does more of the work for you than Golipse does. So is there some reason why Golipse is better?

Which is why I would recommend it for someone wanting to try out WO with the lowest barrier possible.
Any yes, I deploy with FrontBase. It is fast (though others have run into cases where the query optimizer was not doing a good job on specific queries), faster for larger databases, stable, easy to admin, and does replication and clustering.
Properly configured, any decent database will server for deployment even, as Ken said, "some kitty stuff like MySQL". :-P
