I have not read all the thread, so I don't know if you use X11 (I'll
guess yes).
You can define an xterm application in the Applications menu, like so:
name: Terminal (or whatever you want)
Command: xterm -geometry 80x20+34+22 -sb -rightbar -ls -sb -si -sl
10000 -j
it gives you an xterm located at (34,22) from the left top corner of
the screen width 80, height 20, with right scrollbar, login shell, 1000
lines history.
See man xterm for all options.
