Apple has been pretty consistently anti-theming with respect to OSX
though. This includes not just the "appearance" of windows and the
like but also the behavior. While this has annoyed many who turn to
"haxies" and other such hacks, I think it has been wise overall. For
one it provides a consistent environment for users. It also cuts down
on tech support. Having done IT for a while before escaping, I can
attest that letting users have free reign for controlling interface to
that degree is a headache and an half.
This does admittedly bug the "linux" crowd who is used do a great deal
more flexibility. All I can say is that I doubt it will ever change.
Perhaps someone will come up with a 3rd party hack. But I doubt it
will ever be a feature from Apple. And, judging by my experience with
interface hacks using APE (called "haxies") they render your system far
more unstable.
