I couldn't agree more. As a recent convert to the mac, it's the only
feature I sorely miss. Would it really be that hard for Apple to
implement at least a basic key sequence to get keyboard focus to
the menu? It already supports arrow key manuevering once you
click a menu with the mouse. (Someone please correct me if
I'm wrong...but I've not yet discovered any such key sequence).
This goes right along with the problem of tabbing through a
web form and it *skips* right over drop down items.
One of the biggest reasons I like ffm (as mention by others) is
the ability to send keyboad focus to a window that is not the
topmost window. Given the problem of accessing the menu at the
top, a possible middle ground that would satisify me would
be some sort of click-to-focus-but-dont-raise. Like option-click
or shift-click.
