Haroon (and Sean, and anyone interested):

Whatever the burp was, it has gone away with an EnSight upgrade from 7.4
to 7.6.  That said, EnSight has a tooltip feature and if I turn it on,
EnSight immediately starts ignoring all mouse clicks and has to be
killed.  No tooltips, all is well.  Tooltips, gedoinken.  This is with
beta 3 of X11 and EnSight running on an SGI backend, BTW.
