I think there may be a fundamental missunderstanding here of X, X-servers, and X-apps.
X-servers, like Apple's X11 and Hummingbirds eXceed, allow the system running them to
have remotely (or locally) run applications displayed on those systems (i.e. Mac or Windows.)
For example, you could run an X-app on a Macintosh from your PC running eXceed, and NOT
even have X11 loaded on the corresponding Mac! As long as you have the X-app correctly
installed on your Mac along with the shared libraried it needs (this may include
x-libraries!)
I do this on a NetBSD machine I'm running. I use Apple's X11 so that I can run X-apps
from my NetBSD box, and display them on my Mac. X11 is NOT running on my NetBSD box.
I have also used Hummingbirds eXceed to run the same NetBSD X-apps from a Windows
PC.
