Absolutely. Most people have better things to do with their time than
to fiddle with a multitude of X11 configurations. Simple interfaces
with limited options are easier to design, maintain, and support, and
ultimately easier for their users. I'm very skeptical of the purported
efficiency benefits of highly configurable interfaces. I've used
extensively both Mac and X11 windowing environments since the 80s. The
greater configurability of X11 was always a distraction and a source of
inefficiency compared with the consistency among applications on the
Mac.
