Absolutely. Most people have better things to do with their time than to fiddle with a multitude of X11 configurations. Simple interfaces with limited options are easier to design, maintain, and support, and ultimately easier for their users. I'm very skeptical of the purported efficiency benefits of highly configurable interfaces. I've used extensively both Mac and X11 windowing environments since the 80s. The greater configurability of X11 was always a distraction and a source of inefficiency compared with the consistency among applications on the Mac.
