I installed Apple's X11 Beta over the weekend, and yesterday installed the
GNU Plotutils package (http://www.fsf.org/software/plotutils/plotutils.html).
I like the simplicity of writing a program to do some mathematical computation
and simply being able to pipe the output into plotutils to generate a graph.
I have found plotutils very useful on Solaris and Linux systems I work
on for quick visualization of numerical results. Anyway, on the Mac
everything built fine, but when I was in the X11 xterm window
and ran graph, instead of popping up a new Xwindow with the graph in it,
it spit out line after line of garbage characters in the Xterm.
Am I doing something wrong, or is this X11 Beta as yet incompatible somehow
with plotutils? Maybe because graph wants to pop up a new window, instead
of running separately with its own window that belongs to it?
