ok, now finkCommander installes binaries without errors, but when I type the app name in X11 terminal, I get command not found in almost all installed applications?

Have you added the directories to $PATH, such as /sw/bin?

what applications can I run with X11? can I run GNOME or KDE applications? if not how can I install those?

See http://fink.sourceforge.net/pdb/index.php for the apps supported by Fink.

I see lots of packages to install GNOME, is there a single download for GNOME or KDE?

Finally, where can I get OpenOffice and other nice unix applications binaries and how can I install binaries that are not listed in finkcommander?

1 http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/ 2 Fink unstable tree 3 get binary/source from the site of each project (say, www.gnome.org)
