Sometimes this doesn't work. Right now, for example, I have a web
browser up (Chimera). I selected the text using the mouse. I did
Command-C (as well as selecting "Copy" from the "Edit" menu). I then
select X11 by punching the X icon on the dock. I then move to one of
my windows inside a vncviewer window and try to past the text. It
ends up pasting the text I last selected inside this vncviewer window
instead.
It works just fine if I paste into a window running directly under X11
on the Mac. I'm not quite sure of all of the differences with pasting
into a vncviewer window, but I'm pretty sure this worked correctly
under XDarwin.
I mentioned this earlier today, but I'm pretty sure I've seen it under
XDarwin as well, with IceWM. Sometimes I've found pasting into, say,
TextEdit, then re-selecting before pasting into an X app works. It's
infrequent enough that I've never rigorously pursued it, but it sure is
frustrating when it happens.
I'll "re-arrange things" and pay attention from now on ...
