You don't connect to an X server on anything. If you want to run X apps on your Redhat box, then those apps are X clients which connect to the X server running on your Mac.

From a xterm on your Mac, type "ssh -X your_username@your_redhat_box". Once you have the remote session established, run any X application from there and you should see the app's window(s) on the screen of your Mac. Easy.
