Check to see that /tmp/.X0-lock and /tmp/.X11-unix are removed. A few other people (including me) have had this problem.

I think quitting X11.app by any means other than File->Quit will not clean up these files.

I have a Mac where I installed apple x11 and it works just fine for me. Another person also uses this Mac. When i went to show her the wonders of xemacs, x11.app would not launch from her account. clicking on the dock icon the triangle appeared but nothing happened. same with double clicking on x11.app itself. /usr/X11R6/bin is in her path and i don't think anything is odd with permissions. any suggestions? i don't see any difference between being logged into her account or mine, except i installed X11 in the first place.
