Which is to say, the X font server must be running on your local machine for
this to work--you can check with nmap, or lsof -Pi | grep -i 7100--and your
application must use server fonts, which is not true for many recent
applications that use fontconfig and the xft client-side font library. If
"ldd /your/program/path/name" doesn't mention fontconfig or freetype, it
almost certainly doesn't use client side fonts.
