There's no such thing as a trusted network. :) Even in .gov land with
pressurized conduit and restricted access security it's a bad idea to
rely on the wires to keep your secrets.
If it's not localhost, it ought to be encrypted, imho. The bad guys
aren't all "out there". Some are "in here" too.
