Actually this does not help. The page you mention is for the
experimental autotooled version of the X.Org distribution, which is
not up to date or the same as X11R6.8.0 as the first line of the page
mentions:
"These instructions are for installing kdrive-based X Servers on your
system. This does not apply to X.Org at all. "
It is somewhat confusing as currently X.Org has two distinct trees.
In the long term X.Org's official releases should go over to the
autotooled style, instead of a monolithic tree as they are now. In
fact X11R6.8.0 is planned to be the last release based on the
monolithic tree so your instructions may be useful, they just are a
year or so too early. :-)
