I know this question is *hugely* off-topic, but I was wondering where to
ask pretty well exactly the same question. My form of the question is:
How do I stop OSX modifying a USB storage device when I insert it? What
normally happens is that the device is auto mounted, the appropriate
Finder window pops up, and ... a .DS_store file is written to the root
directory of the device.
I want to be able to read *original* unmodified USB disk image!
I'm using OS10.4.6.
I have access to 10.3 or 10.4.
Huge apologies for the massive off-topic nature of this question, but this
is a friendly and knowledgeable list!
