I did some resizing tests on an xterm window and this problem appears to
be a limitation (bug?) of the Quartz window manager. I found that the
maximum size is the size of the monitor where the left edge of the window
is located (I have two different sized monitors). On the other hand
running a different window manager, such as twm or mwm, allowed the window
to be resized to the combined size of both monitors.

It seems that X11 windows are constrained to not grow larger than the

But I have 3 monitors side by side. I want to make an X11 window fill
all 3 of my monitors. The window that I want to resize is basically a
VNC remote desktop. I made the desktop size fit across all 3 monitors
and I get horizontal scroll bars that allow me to scroll back and forth
3 monitors worth.
Does anyone know what would be preventing the X11 window from growing? Is
there something that I can change?
I would love to get this to work!
Thanks!
