Beautiful! Thanks Owen for your help. twm works... But I guess I'm not
thrilled with twm as a window manager. I looked on the web for other
options.
I changed to twm by editing .xinitrc in my home dir. I commented out exec
quartz-wm and added exec twm. I changed it to exec enlightenment and X11
dies at launch probably because enlightenment is not installed.
I tried to install enlightenment from: http://enlightenment.darwinports.com/
But I got the following messages:
[sampsont:~] sampsont% sudo port install enlightenment
Password:
Warning: Can't open index file for source:
rsync://rsync.darwinports.org/dpupdate/dports
Error: /opt/local/bin/port: search for portname enlightenment failed: No
index(es) found! Have you synced your source indexes?
Darwinports installed ok and I have Xcode installed. I don't exactly know
what I'm doing but I assume when you install something like this,
Darwinports takes care of getting the source code, compiles and links it and
puts it where it should go.
Anybody have any ideas what I need to do?
Thanks a lot!
