John,
Okay. Peter has verified that wrappered x11 unix applications like
Sparky, etc will properly launch in Rosetta under X11.app. What I am
still unclear on is how things are handled from the xterminal window.
For example, say one double clicks the X11.app on a Macintel machine
to bring up a x-terminal window. Then if one has a ppc x11 binary
installed in /usr/local/bin and executes it on the X-terminal window
will it run correctly as well? I assume that X11.app started that way
will be running in native intel mode. So what I am still unclear on
is whether starting ppc binaries from the x-terminal that way will
in fact run them properly under Rosetta. Or do you have to pass them
as a argument to X11.app with a wrapper launcher application (ala
Sparky or Chimera).
           Jack
